The Conspiracy of Man

30 Sep

It began in hushed whispers,

High up, in heavenly chambers.

When the plot was hatched,

Arose from the ashes of bad ideas

The creature referred to as man.

In a trashcan on a barren street,

Life as we know it began.

Fragile and clueless, the seeds sown

And the baby got up,

Looked in again, a torn hoodie

7 Sizes too big; covered its skin.

Eyes hardly open, the street sorely stale

The thing that was to be man, made its way.

No piercing stare was it spared of

Its journey a life of scare.

And then they look down

Thinking what have they done?

The conspiracy out in the light to see

Man was made by man himself

There was no changing who he’d be

Alas, the snowy winter ‘live again

Threatening to blow down the pane

Shattered glass roars away

This baby, a year older each day.

When manhood strikes, ready is he.

Man is prepared not what to see, but what to feel

Then they’d look up from the skies above

Wondering what conspiracy to hatch

The last one failed and so will the next

Because man mastered his destiny

For him there is no beginning, no end.

No eternal hope or glorious faith.

No, for him, his destiny is done

He’s made it out long before he had come

Conspirers will conspire, and life will go on

But how long will he toy around

Dancing with fire and reading its light

Never wise, never insight.

But who’s to say, without a pinch of salt

All taken away, A blueprint moulded,

Into the concrete of reality

Macabre Nights

28 Sep

Waiting in vain

Fighting burning drops of rain

Cringing in fear

Afraid to let out a tear.

The nights lay spread before his eyes

No sun had he seen in 9 lives

Morose he lay

The nights were here to stay

Spent 9 lives searching a way out

Every rule of life did he flout

Black atop his mind

White a colour he’d never find

Macabre Nights weren’t going ‘way

Still he sat until…his nerves b’came fray

Times are Strange

27 Sep

A worried man

Wearing a worried mask

His eyes closed

Open to all the fear.

People are crazy

And times are strange.

I wonder what happened

Things are strange.

The worried man

Carries a worried stick

As he walks down the road of life.

You can have a winning hand and still loose it all

It’s all so strange

But people are crazy

And times have changed

Times are strange

The worried man seems estranged

His worried mask fallen off his face

His eyes wide open

Closed to all the fear

People are crazy

And times are strange

And yet the tables have turned

The worried man ain’t so scared

Its all so strange

But that’s how it really is

People are crazy

And times are strange.

The Grand Disappearing Act

26 Sep

So few knew its eminence,

Yet fewer even cared.
But it was an act in its true sense.
Done, as well as the best.
From the ashes this soul had arisen
It sunk back…Leaving
Dust. Nothing but dust.
People searched? Maybe.
Planned in the mind,
Each detail, as it were to play out.
And it did. In life better.
A felt fedora, ray bans and a coat.
Gone. Would he be found?
Contacts? Easily broken.
No love lost for all those forgotten
A moment spent remembering the ones loved
Not long…Just enough for the 3rd car to pass by
A lost moon…Up in the sky
Dreams washed up against the pastel sand
Faint lights in the background
Threatening to give away…a name
The real one. But there was no real one
Not anymore…It was far out at sea
And with struggling among sharks: reality.
The Grand Disappearing Act was done
The man who’d done it took a bow
From the back of the hall
The audience glaring intently at an empty stage

Idols Fall

25 Sep

At the beginning of your love
They stand so tall
Nothing can bring them down; Oh boy they’re tall.
And they cross hurdles and run miles
Break records and touch skies
They’re a goal you’ll never reach
A sight you hope to catch
You let out a sigh
Never be where they are
Seeing them reach so high
Dare to give it a try.

But idols fall,
They stand too tall
They break their backs; their feet back on earth.
A single swoosh and they’re down
Mortal once again
The road is there for you to take
The same risks playing out again
You’re on top
That’s not enough

You fall down sadly too
Idols fall
A boy makes it to where you are
Climbs the rungs again
But idols fall
And so will you
